Yanmar SD25 Reversed Saildrive – SD25R

The Yanmar SD25R is the reversed-rotation version of the SD25 saildrive, the underwater transmission that carries power from a compatible Yanmar diesel to the propeller. It is meant for sailboats and auxiliary vessels whose installation layout calls for a reversed saildrive.

The SD25R works with SD25 configurations on select small to mid-range Yanmar diesel engines, depending on vessel design and drivetrain needs. As an OEM Yanmar component it mates with the appropriate adaptor plates, engine beds and mounting hardware when installed to the manufacturer's specifications. The reversed layout gives correct propeller rotation and alignment where space, shaft direction or hull design rule out a standard unit.

Typical uses are replacing an existing reversed unit, repowers that need a reversed saildrive transmission and new installations where the saildrive must match a specific drivetrain orientation.
