Yanmar 4LV170 Marine Diesel Engine, 170 HP

The Yanmar 4LV170 is a 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, water-cooled common-rail marine diesel rated at 170 mhp (125 kW) at 3500 RPM. It displaces 2.755 L (168 cu in) with a 92 x 103.6 mm bore and stroke.

Yanmar targets the 4LV series at sailing yachts over 50 ft, superyacht tenders, small motorboats and light-duty commercial vessels. It is compact enough to fit earlier engine footprints, suiting repowers as well as new builds, and it connects directly to NMEA and J1939 CAN-bus networks for multifunction display integration.

Compatible Yanmar controls include the VC10 electronic control panel with real-time diagnostics and the JC20 joystick maneuvering system. Emission compliance covers EU RCD 2 and IMO, and the 4LV series exceeds EPA Tier 3 and EU RCD Stage 2 limits.
