The Yamaha F9.9LMHB is a 9.9 HP, two-cylinder four-stroke portable outboard with a 20-inch shaft, tiller steering and manual starting. Its 212 cc carbureted engine weighs 89 lbs, and the tiller handle is a shorter design for comfort.

Yamaha lists a full-throttle range of 5,000 to 6,000 RPM for this motor. Standard equipment includes an aluminum propeller, a fuel line, a safety lanyard and the owner's manual. The same 9.9 HP platform is also built in a separate High Thrust T9.9 version.
