The Yamaha F8SMHB is an 8 HP, SOHC two-cylinder four-stroke portable outboard with a 15-inch shaft, tiller steering and manual starting. Its 212 cc carbureted engine weighs 87 lbs and is suited to jon boats and inflatables.

A shorter tiller handle makes the motor more comfortable to run, and Yamaha lists a full-throttle range of 5,000 to 6,000 RPM. Yamaha portables have built-in carrying handles, resting pads and an oil-leak prevention system so the motor can be stored on its side.
