Volvo Penta V8-430 A-CE-PD-S Aquamatic Gasoline Sterndrive Engine

The Volvo Penta Aquamatic V8-430 A-CE-PD-S is an integrated sterndrive package with a 5.3-liter, 8-cylinder direct-injection gasoline engine, a catalyst and broadband oxygen sensors, driving through the twin-propeller Duoprop DPS drive. It is freshwater cooled.

With an aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head, light low-friction pistons and a cast-aluminum oil pan, the engine and drive make up a compact package that installs more easily. Direct spark-ignition injection supports a high compression ratio, and variable valve timing tunes intake and exhaust valve movement to engine speed and load.

The closed freshwater cooling system keeps seawater from circulating through the engine, limiting internal corrosion. Easy Drain clears the raw-water side in a few minutes, and the anti-siphon valve allows draining with the boat still in the water. Electronic engine control, a lightweight aluminum exhaust, an integrated kick-up function and easy-access service points round out the package.
