Volvo Penta V8-350A-CE-PD-S Aquamatic Gasoline Sterndrive Engine

The Volvo Penta Aquamatic V8-350A-CE-PD-S is an integrated sterndrive package built on a 5.3-liter, 8-cylinder direct-injection gasoline engine with a catalyst and broadband oxygen sensors. It drives through the twin-propeller Duoprop DPS drive and is freshwater cooled.

The engine uses an aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head, light low-friction pistons and a cast-aluminum oil pan, which keeps the engine-and-drive package compact and simplifies installation. Direct spark-ignition injection allows a high compression ratio, and variable valve timing adapts intake and exhaust valve events to engine speed and load across the rev range.

A closed freshwater cooling circuit keeps seawater out of the engine to reduce internal corrosion. Easy Drain empties the raw-water side in a few minutes, and its anti-siphon valve lets the job be done with the boat in the water. Electronic engine control, a lightweight aluminum exhaust, an integrated kick-up function and easy-access service points are part of the package.
