Volvo Penta V8-300A-CE-PD-S Aquamatic Gasoline Sterndrive Engine

The Volvo Penta Aquamatic V8-300A-CE-PD-S is an integrated sterndrive package combining a 5.3-liter, 8-cylinder direct-injection gasoline engine with a catalyst and the Duoprop DPS drive. A closed freshwater system cools the engine.

The aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head, lightweight low-friction pistons and cast-aluminum oil pan make for a compact engine-and-drive package that is simpler to install. Direct spark-ignition injection permits a high compression ratio, and variable valve timing sets intake and exhaust valve movement to suit engine speed and load.

Because the cooling circuit is closed and freshwater-filled, seawater does not reach the engine internals, which limits corrosion. Easy Drain empties the raw-water side in a few minutes, and an anti-siphon valve lets this happen with the boat afloat. Electronic engine control, a lightweight aluminum exhaust, an integrated kick-up function and easy-access service points complete the specification.
