Volvo Penta V8-300-C DP-S Aquamatic Gasoline Sterndrive Engine

The Volvo Penta Aquamatic V8-300-C DP-S is an integrated sterndrive package with a 5.3-liter, 8-cylinder direct-injection gasoline engine, a catalyst and freshwater cooling. Propulsion is through the Duoprop DPS drive.

An aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head, light low-friction pistons and a cast-aluminum oil pan give a compact engine-and-drive package that is easier to install. Direct spark-ignition fuel injection supports a high compression ratio, and variable valve timing matches intake and exhaust valve events to engine speed and load.

Closed-loop freshwater cooling keeps seawater out of the engine internals, which limits corrosion. The Easy Drain system empties the raw-water side in a few minutes, and an anti-siphon valve lets this be done with the boat in the water. Electronic engine control, a lightweight aluminum exhaust, an integrated kick-up function and easy-access service points complete the package.
