Volvo Penta V6-250A-CE-PD-S Aquamatic Gasoline Sterndrive Engine

The Volvo Penta Aquamatic V6-250A-CE-PD-S is an integrated sterndrive package built around a 4.3-liter, 6-cylinder direct-injection gasoline engine with a catalyst and freshwater cooling. The engine is paired with the twin-propeller Duoprop DPS drive.

An aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head, light low-friction pistons and a cast-aluminum oil pan keep the engine and drive compact, which makes installation simpler. Direct spark-ignition fuel injection supports a high compression ratio, and variable valve timing adjusts intake and exhaust valve events to engine speed and load for torque across the rev range.

Closed-loop freshwater cooling keeps seawater out of the engine's internal passages to resist corrosion. The Easy Drain system empties the raw-water side in a few minutes, and its anti-siphon valve allows this with the boat still in the water. Electronic engine control, a lightweight aluminum exhaust, an integrated kick-up function and easy-access service points complete the package.
