Volvo Penta D8-600 Marine Diesel Engine, 600 HP

The Volvo Penta D8-600 is a 7.7-liter inline 6-cylinder marine diesel rated at 600 HP at 3000 RPM. It uses common-rail fuel injection, double overhead camshafts and a twin-entry turbocharger with charge-air cooling, all under electronic engine management.

The D8-600 is aimed at fast cruisers and sport yachts and can be paired with a conventional drivetrain. It integrates with Volvo Penta Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) for single-lever throttle and shift, cruise control and engine synchronization, Glass Cockpit compatibility, and built-in diagnostics and redundancy.

Maintenance points are laid out for clear access, and the engine uses Volvo Penta lubrication and filtration systems with set service intervals. Emissions compliance covers EPA Tier 3, EU RCD Stage II and IMO NOx Tier II.
