Volvo Penta D4-260 Marine Diesel Engine, 260 HP
The Volvo Penta D4-260 is a 3.7-liter 4-cylinder marine diesel with crankshaft power of 191 kW (260 hp) at 3,500 RPM, at Rating 5. It has electronically controlled common-rail injection, a turbo with charge air cooler and heat exchanger cooling.
Rigid cast-iron block and head, an integrated balance shaft and optimized engine suspension reduce noise and vibration, and the engine is compact for its swept volume. Fuel consumption is 230 g/kWh, with the control unit monitoring several parameters.
Electronic Vessel Control integrates the engines, electronics and optional features, while the Marine Commercial Control System offers an open system for a ship's own controls. PTO capability, a heavy-duty engine cover and easily accessible service points are part of the design.
