Volvo Penta D4-225 Marine Diesel Engine, 225 HP

The Volvo Penta D4-225, also referred to as the Volvo Penta 225D, is a 3.7-liter in-line 4-cylinder marine diesel rated 225 hp (165 kW) at 3,500 RPM, at Rating 4. It uses common-rail injection, double overhead camshafts and a turbo with charge-air cooler.

An integrated balance shaft and optimized engine mounts reduce vibration and noise, while the rigid cast-iron cylinder block and head give strength in a compact footprint that fits tight engine rooms. The engine suits mid-size vessels and repower projects.

Full compatibility with Volvo Penta Electronic Vessel Control provides integrated engine and helm electronics, single-lever operation and diagnostics and monitoring. Cooling is by heat exchanger with freshwater circulation.
