The Volvo Penta D3-150 is a 2.4-liter 5-cylinder marine diesel with electronically controlled common-rail injection and a variable geometry turbo with charge air cooler. It is rated at 3,000 RPM, Rating 5, and has heat exchanger freshwater cooling.

The aluminum cylinder block and head keep weight down, and the compact, fully symmetrical design eases installation. The engine is tuned for high torque at low RPM for quick planing and strong maneuvering, and its control unit monitors several parameters to manage fuel consumption.
