Volvo Penta D2-60 Bobtail Marine Diesel Engine
The Volvo Penta D2-60 is a 2.2-liter, 4-cylinder in-line marine diesel engine with an intake air cooler, a camshaft-driven in-line injection pump and freshwater cooling. This bobtail version is supplied without a transmission.
Dynamic balancing, highly effective rubber insulation, low engine speed and an intake air silencer combine to keep noise and vibration levels low for comfort on board. Strong torque at low revs gives a fast response when maneuvering in harbor, in a strong headwind or in tight spaces.
The built-in load-sensing alternator supplies more than 35 A at idle and around 100 A at cruising speed. Freshwater cooling comes standard, keeping the operating temperature uniform and reducing internal corrosion. Equipment also includes an EVC and NMEA instrumentation interface, a special oil-change tube, a relay-activated starter solenoid and a large-capacity hot water outlet.
