Volvo Penta D2-50 MS25L Marine Diesel Engine, 50 HP
The Volvo Penta D2-50 MS25L is a 2.2-liter in-line 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated marine diesel rated 50 hp (37 kW) at 3,000 RPM. It has a mechanical cam-driven in-line injection pump and freshwater cooling with a heat exchanger.
The cast-iron engine block, dynamically balanced construction and rubber engine mounts keep vibration low and cruising quiet, which suits cruising sailboats and small motor vessels. Strong low-RPM torque helps with marina maneuvering, docking and head winds.
A high-output alternator of up to 115 A supports onboard systems such as refrigeration, navigation electronics and lighting. Standard freshwater cooling limits internal corrosion and keeps operating temperatures consistent, including in saltwater.
