Volvo Penta D2-50 Marine Diesel Engine with HS25A Gearbox
A Volvo Penta D2-50 marine diesel engine supplied together with an HS25A gearbox. The D2-50 is a 2.2-liter, four-cylinder in-line diesel with a camshaft-driven in-line injection pump and freshwater cooling as standard.
Running at low engine speeds, the D2-50 uses a dynamically balanced design and effective rubber insulation to keep vibration down, and an intake air silencer lowers noise on board. It produces high torque at low revs for quick response when maneuvering in port, in tight spaces or against a strong wind, and it is built around a rigid engine block.
A built-in load-sensing alternator delivers more than 35 A at idle and approximately 100 A at cruising speed. Standard features also include freshwater cooling, which reduces internal corrosion and keeps the temperature uniform, an EVC instrumentation interface with NMEA, a dedicated oil-change tube, a relay-operated starter solenoid and a large-capacity hot water outlet.
