Volvo Penta D13-800 Marine Diesel Engine, 800 HP

The Volvo Penta D13-800 is a 12.8-liter in-line 6-cylinder marine diesel rated 800 hp at 2,300 RPM. It has an overhead camshaft, a twin-entry turbocharger with charge-air cooling, a water-cooled exhaust manifold and heat exchanger cooling.

Built for continuous marine duty, the D13-800 uses a rigid cast-iron cylinder block, a heavy-duty cast-iron cylinder head and reinforced internal components. Its torque-focused calibration supports acceleration under load and stable cruising in difficult sea conditions, and it is designed for high-load, long-hour operation including commercial vessels.

Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) compatibility brings single-lever operation, integrated diagnostics and fault logging, glass cockpit compatibility and built-in redundancy. Service points are clearly laid out, and the engine uses Volvo Penta filtration and lubrication systems.
