Volvo Penta D13-1000 Marine Diesel Engine, 1000 HP

The Volvo Penta D13-1000 is a 12.8-liter in-line 6-cylinder marine diesel rated 1000 hp (735 kW) at 2,400 RPM, at Rating 5. Dual-stage turbocharging with twin charge-air coolers feeds electronic unit injectors, with heat exchanger cooling.

The cylinder block and head are rigid cast iron, with heavy-duty internal components for high thermal loads, and reinforced pistons, camshafts, injectors and cooling systems support the 1000 hp rating. The engine is intended for twin, triple or quad installations in yachts over 60 feet.

Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) provides single-lever throttle and shift, engine synchronization across multi-engine installations, cruise control and joystick support, glass cockpit compatibility and built-in diagnostics with redundancy.
