Volvo Penta D1-30 Marine Diesel Engine with Sail Drive 130S
The Volvo Penta D1-30 is a 1.1-liter, three-cylinder in-line marine diesel supplied with the Sail Drive 130S. It uses an in-line injection pump driven from the camshaft and has freshwater cooling as standard, running at low engine speeds with minimal vibration.
A dynamically balanced design with effective rubber isolation keeps vibration low, and the low engine speed together with an intake air silencer reduces noise on board. The rigid engine block and one-piece cylinder head are built for strength, and high torque at low revs gives quick response when maneuvering in harbor, against a strong wind or in tight spaces.
High charging capacity is standard: the built-in load-sensing alternator (listed as 115) delivers more than 35 A at idle and approximately 100 A at cruising speed. Freshwater cooling reduces internal corrosion and holds an even operating temperature. Also standard are an EVC and NMEA instrumentation interface, a special oil change tube, a relay-activated starter solenoid and a large-capacity hot water outlet.
