Volvo Penta D1-20 Marine Diesel Engine with MS15A Gearbox
A Volvo Penta D1-20 marine diesel engine supplied together with an MS15A gearbox. The D1-20 is a 0.8-liter, three-cylinder in-line diesel that uses a camshaft-driven in-line injection pump and comes with freshwater cooling.
The engine runs at low speeds with a dynamically balanced design and effective rubber insulation, and an intake air silencer further reduces noise on board. High torque at low revs gives quick response when maneuvering in harbor, in confined spaces or into a strong wind, and the engine is built around a rigid block.
Charging comes from a built-in load-sensing alternator rated to give more than 35 A at idle and about 100 A at cruising speed. Also standard: freshwater cooling to reduce internal corrosion and keep the temperature even, an EVC instrumentation interface with NMEA, a dedicated oil-change tube, a relay-operated starter solenoid and a large-capacity hot water outlet.
