Volvo Penta D1-13 Marine Diesel Engine with MS15A Gearbox
A Volvo Penta D1-13 marine diesel engine supplied together with an MS15A gearbox. The D1-13 is a 0.5-liter, two-cylinder in-line diesel with a camshaft-driven in-line injection pump and freshwater cooling as standard.
Low engine speeds, a dynamically balanced design and effective rubber insulation keep vibration and noise down, helped by an intake air silencer. The engine delivers strong torque at low revs for responsive handling when maneuvering in port, in tight spaces or against a headwind, and it is built around a rigid engine block.
A load-sensing alternator is built in and supplies more than 35 A at idle and roughly 100 A at cruising speed. Standard equipment also includes freshwater cooling, which limits internal corrosion and holds an even operating temperature, an EVC instrumentation interface with NMEA, a dedicated oil-change tube, a relay-operated starter solenoid and a large-capacity hot water outlet.
