Volvo Penta Aquamatic D6-380A DP-I Diesel Engine and DuoProp Sterndrive

The Volvo Penta Aquamatic D6-380A DP-I is an integrated sterndrive package pairing a 5.5-liter in-line six-cylinder common-rail diesel with the DuoProp DPI drive. The engine uses double overhead camshafts with a turbo and supercharger and is run through Volvo Penta EVC Electronic Vessel Control.

Engine and drive are engineered as one system, from the helm controls to the twin DuoProp propellers. The diesel is a solid, robust design with electronically controlled common-rail injection, and the quiet propeller gearing allows the clutch to be slipped for smooth maneuvering at low speed. Service points are placed for easy access.

Throttle and shift are electronic, and the EVC platform links the engine, electronics and optional features such as single-lever mode and Glass Cockpit; it also supports functions such as joystick maneuvering and dynamic positioning. A hydraulic shift mechanism with smooth shifting and a low-speed function is standard, and the remote e-Key is included.
