Vetus M4.56K Marine Diesel Engine, Keel Cooled Model, 52 HP
The Vetus M4.56K is the keel-cooled model of this four-cylinder M-line marine diesel, rated 38.3 kW (52 hp) at the flywheel and 37.1 kW (51 hp) at the propeller shaft. It displaces 1758 cm³, runs to 3000 RPM and comes with a TM345(A) gearbox as standard.
The impeller is mounted at the front, as on all M4 engines, with the fuses and relays, fuel filter and connections, dipstick and oil filter grouped for easy access. A water-cooled element in the cast aluminum top cover takes up radiant heat, and a plastic front cover keeps pulleys and belts enclosed to meet the EC Machinery Directive.
Standard equipment includes a 12 V, 110 A marine alternator, with a second alternator available. An electric fuel pump runs from the ignition switch and the fuel system is self-bleeding. ZF12M, ZF15MIV and TMC60P gearboxes, front-mounted oil and fuel filters with bracket and a calorifier connection kit are offered as options.
