Vetus M4.56 Marine Diesel Engine with Saildrive
This Vetus M4.56 package combines the four-cylinder M-line marine diesel with a saildrive, listed as the SP60 or SD10. The engine displaces 1758 cm³ with a 78 x 92 mm bore and stroke and has a maximum engine speed of 3000 RPM.
The SP60 saildrive has 2.15 / 2.38:1 ratios and the SD10 with 2.23 / 2.49:1, and a GRP engine bed for either drive is optional. Standard cooling is indirect, with keel cooling available as an option, and a calorifier connection kit can be added.
The M-line cast aluminum top cover carries a water-cooled element that absorbs radiant heat. The front-mounted impeller, fuses and relays, fuel filter, dipstick and oil filter are easy to reach, a plastic front cover encloses the belts and pulleys, and an ignition-switched electric fuel pump feeds a self-bleeding fuel system.
