Vetus M4.45K Marine Diesel Engine, Keel Cooled Model
The Vetus M4.45K is the keel-cooled model of this four-cylinder M-line marine diesel, displacing 1758 cm³ with a 78 x 92 mm bore and stroke and a 3000 RPM maximum. A TMC60P gearbox and a 12 V, 110 A alternator are standard.
The front-mounted impeller found on all M4 engines sits beside easily reached fuses and relays, fuel filter and connections, dipstick and oil filter. The cast aluminum top cover integrates a water-cooled element to absorb radiant heat, and a plastic front cover shields the pulleys and belts to meet the EC Machinery Directive.
Fuel comes from an electric pump energized by the ignition switch, and the system bleeds itself after a filter change. A second alternator, front-mounted oil and fuel filters with bracket, a calorifier connection kit, SOLAS approval and the ZF12M or TMC60A gearbox are listed as options.
