Vetus M4.45 Marine Diesel Engine with Saildrive
This Vetus M4.45 package pairs the four-cylinder M-line marine diesel with a saildrive, offered as the SP60 or SD10. The engine displaces 1758 cm³ with a 78 x 92 mm bore and stroke, turns up to 3000 RPM and carries a 12 V, 110 A alternator.
The SP60 saildrive has 2.15 / 2.38:1 ratios and the SD10 2.23 / 2.49:1, and a GRP engine bed for either one is optional. Certification is EU-RCD II, BSO and SOLAS, and on M4 engines a second alternator can be added to the standard unit.
A cast aluminum top cover with a water-cooled element absorbs radiant heat, and the front-mounted impeller, fuses and relays, fuel filter, dipstick and oil filter are laid out for easy servicing. A plastic front cover encloses the belts and pulleys, while an ignition-switched electric fuel pump supplies a self-bleeding fuel system.
