Vetus M4.35 Marine Diesel Engine with Saildrive, 33 HP
This Vetus M4.35 package combines the four-cylinder M-line marine diesel with a saildrive, available as the SP60 or SD10. The engine is rated 24.3 kW (33 hp) at the flywheel and 23.6 kW (32.1 hp) at the propeller shaft, with 1758 cm³ displacement and a 3000 RPM maximum.
The SP60 saildrive comes in 2.15 / 2.38:1 ratios and the SD10 in 2.23 / 2.49:1, and a GRP engine bed for either drive is optional. Certification is EU-RCD II, BSO and SOLAS, and the standard 12 V, 110 A alternator can be joined by an optional second alternator on M4 engines.
The cast aluminum top cover includes a water-cooled element that takes up radiant heat, while the front-mounted impeller, fuses and relays, fuel filter, dipstick and oil filter are easy to reach. Pulleys and belts sit behind a plastic front cover, the electric fuel pump runs from the ignition switch, and the fuel system bleeds itself after a filter change.
