Vetus M4.35 Marine Diesel Engine, 33 HP
The Vetus M4.35 is a four-cylinder M-line marine diesel engine rated 24.3 kW (33 hp) at the flywheel and 23.6 kW (32.1 hp) at the propeller shaft. It displaces 1758 cm³, turns up to 3000 RPM and comes with a TMC60P gearbox as standard.
On M4 engines the impeller is mounted at the front for easier access, alongside reachable fuses and relays, fuel filter and connections, dipstick and oil filter. A cast aluminum top cover with a water-cooled element absorbs radiant engine heat, and a plastic front cover encloses the pulleys and belts in line with the EC Machinery Directive.
A 12 V, 110 A marine alternator is standard, and a second alternator can be added on M4 engines. The electric fuel pump runs from the ignition switch and the fuel system bleeds itself after a filter change. Options include front-mounted oil and fuel filters with bracket, a calorifier connection kit and the ZF12M or TMC60A gearbox; certification is EU-RCD II, BSO and SOLAS.
