Vetus M3.29 Marine Diesel Engine, 27 HP
The Vetus M3.29 is a three-cylinder M-line marine diesel engine rated 20 kW (27 hp) at the flywheel and 19.3 kW (26.2 hp) at the propeller shaft. It displaces 952 cm³, runs up to 3600 RPM and comes with a TMC40P gearbox as standard.
The redesigned M-line engine wears a cast aluminum top cover with a built-in water-cooled element that absorbs radiant heat from the engine. Service items such as fuses and relays, the fuel filter and its connections, the impeller, the dipstick and the oil filter sit within easy reach, and the pulleys and belts are enclosed by a plastic front cover that meets the EC Machinery Directive.
The electric fuel pump is energized by the ignition switch and the fuel system bleeds itself after a filter change. A new air inlet filter housing reduces intake noise, the heat exchanger has 26 improvements in materials and surface treatment, and a high-output marine alternator is fitted as standard. Options include front-mounted oil and fuel filters with bracket, a calorifier connection kit, SOLAS approval and the ZF12M, ZF15MIV or TMC60A gearbox.
