Vetus M2.13S 12 HP Marine Diesel Engine with Sail Drive
The Vetus M2.13S is the saildrive version of the two-cylinder, 635 cm³ M-Line marine diesel, rated 8.8 kW (12 HP) at the flywheel and 8.7 kW (11.8 HP) at the propeller shaft. Saildrive options are the SP60 (2.15 / 2.38:1) and SD10 (2.23 / 2.49:1).
The cast aluminum top cover carries a water-cooled element that absorbs radiant heat, lowering temperature by up to 15°C according to the maker, and together with the new air filter it cut noise by about 5 dB(A) in tests; it also doubles as a step. Fuses and relays, fuel filter and connections, impeller, dipstick and oil filter are laid out for easy access. An electric fuel pump runs from the ignition switch, and a plastic front cover encloses all pulleys and belts to meet the EC Machinery Directive.
An instrument panel, four flexible engine mountings and an oil sump pump come as standard. Cooling is indirect as standard, with keel cooling, front-mounted oil and fuel filters with bracket, and a calorifier connection kit available as options. Warning lights and an audible alarm cover oil pressure, coolant and exhaust temperature and charging current; the engine carries EU-RCD II and BSO certification.
