Vetus M2.13 12 HP Two-Cylinder Marine Diesel Engine
The Vetus M2.13 is a two-cylinder, 635 cm³ M-Line marine diesel engine rated 8.8 kW (12 HP) at the flywheel and 8.7 kW (11.8 HP) at the propeller shaft, with a maximum speed of 3,000 RPM. It uses indirect cooling as standard and is paired with a TMC40P gearbox.
The cast aluminum top cover carries a water-cooled element that absorbs radiant heat, lowering temperature by up to 15°C according to the maker, and together with the new air filter it cut noise by about 5 dB(A) in tests; it also doubles as a step. Fuses and relays, fuel filter and connections, impeller, dipstick and oil filter are laid out for easy access. An electric fuel pump runs from the ignition switch, and a plastic front cover encloses all pulleys and belts to meet the EC Machinery Directive.
An instrument panel, four flexible engine mountings and an oil sump pump come as standard. The standard gearbox is the TMC40P (2 / 2.60:1), with ZF12M 2.114 / 2.63:1, ZF15MIV 2.13 / 2.99:1 and TMC60A 2 / 2.5:1 as options. Keel cooling, front-mounted oil and fuel filters with bracket, and a calorifier connection kit are optional. Warning lights and an audible alarm cover oil pressure, coolant and exhaust temperature and charging current.
