Perkins M300C Marine Diesel Engine, 300 HP
The Perkins M300C is a six-cylinder, 6.6-liter turbocharged and aftercooled marine diesel with a light-duty rating of 300 hp (225 kW) at 2400 RPM. It runs a common rail fuel system under electronic engine control and meets EPA Tier 2, IMO, RCD and CCNR stage 2 emission standards.
Standard supply covers the complete fuel system, the air cleaner and the heat exchanger. The engine uses multi-shot direct injection, automatic cold start control and an electronic governor, with gear-driven auxiliary and jacket water pumps, an integral oil cooler, a cupro-nickel charge air cooler, a water-cooled exhaust manifold with integral header tank and a dry-wrapped turbocharger. It has an SAE3 backend, a 12-volt starter motor, a 90 amp 12-volt alternator, J1939 fault diagnostics and a 500-hour service interval.
Further listed items are a shallow sump with high-level dipstick and twin oil fillers, primary and secondary fuel filters with a water-in-fuel alarm, and insulated electrics. Configuration choices listed for the engine include 24-volt starting, 55 and 100 amp 24-volt and 175 amp 12-volt charging alternators, analog and digital marine displays, anti-vibration mounts, dry and wet exhaust elbows, transmission adaption kits or a factory-installed transmission, and a crankshaft PTO extension with pulley drives. It is approved for biodiesel up to B20 and for military fuels.
