Mercury Jet 40ELHPT FourStroke Tiller Outboard
A Mercury Jet 40 HP FourStroke tiller outboard that uses a jet pump in place of a propeller gearcase, so the boat can run in shallow water. It has electric start, power trim and tilt, EFI and a 15-inch shaft.
With the pump mounted flush with the underside of the hull, the boat can work in water too shallow for a conventional lower unit. Mercury points to the design keeping the area around the engine secure, a reason it is used on rescue boats, and its stainless impeller is built to withstand sand, shells and other abrasive debris pulled through the pump. The four-cylinder motor weighs 267 lbs, and the owner's manual, mounting hardware and a tool kit are included.
