MerCruiser 350 5.7L Alpha 300 PS V8 Marine Engine (8M0079530)
A partially dressed MerCruiser 350 5.7L V8 marine engine assembly rated 300 HP at 5,000 RPM, model 8M0079530. It is fed by a 750 CFM four-barrel carburetor and fits V8 MerCruiser Alpha sterndrive and inboard applications.
The 350 cubic inch engine is built on a 4-bolt main iron block with a nodular iron crankshaft, roller camshaft, 9.4:1 hypereutectic pistons, stainless steel valves and iron cylinder heads with screw-in rocker studs. Thunderbolt V ignition with knock control handles spark timing, and a mechanical fuel pump supplies the carburetor. It runs on 87 octane fuel.
Cooling is through a circulating water pump with a bronze water crossover. A flame arrestor, harmonic balancer and 10-pin harness are included. Beyond MerCruiser Alpha sterndrive and inboard installs, the engine adapts to sterndrives and inboards of other makes.
