MerCruiser 3.0L TKS 135 PS Fully Dressed Marine Engine (8M0116646)
A fully dressed MerCruiser 3.0L in-line four-cylinder carbureted marine engine with the Turn-Key-Start (TKS) system, rated 135 HP / 99.3 kW at the prop. TKS removes the choking and pumping from cold starts, so the engine fires with a turn of the key.
The 181 cubic inch (3 L) block uses a 4.00 x 3.60 in (101 x 91 mm) bore and stroke and runs at 4,400-4,800 RPM at full throttle. Ignition is a crank-fired high-voltage switch system with knock control, and a 65 amp / 917 watt alternator, serpentine-belt accessory drive and thermostatically controlled cooling are fitted. The exhaust uses an electro-deposition paint coated iron manifold with a dry joint elbow, and draining is through a single-point manual drain (Alpha).
The Engine Guardian system covers knock control, low drive lubricant, low oil pressure, low sea water pressure, low voltage and over-rev. The recommended fuel is 87 octane with up to 10% ethanol, and the recommended oil is Mercury MerCruiser full-synthetic 20W-40, FC-W rated. Listed boat types are fish, pontoon and sterndrive sportboats. Equivalent part numbers: 8M0187358 / 8M0168484.
