The ESAB Rebel EMP 285ic 1PH (0558102554) is a single-phase DC multiprocess welder for MIG, flux-cored, stick and TIG with a 5-300A output range on 120-240V input. It is rated 40% duty cycle at 285A and 60% at 220A, and weighs 70 lbs.

sMIG monitors the arc and adapts to the operator's technique, so setting wire diameter and plate thickness is enough to begin. A 4-roll drive feeds solid wire up to .052 in and cored wire up to 1/16 in, and the machine runs stick electrodes up to 5/32 in and TIG rods up to 3/16 in. It handles short-arc and spray transfer, takes 4, 8 or 12 inch spools and welds plate up to 1/2 in. A multilingual TFT display provides four memory locations per process along with trim, inductance, pre/post-flow and spot weld settings.

The roll cage has four handles. On 120V the machine requires the W4014000 adapter. Included are the EMP 285 power source, a 15 ft Spray Master MIG gun that takes Velocity consumables, a Tweco electrode holder, a Victor argon flowmeter with 12 ft hose, a ground clamp with leads, a 10 ft power cord with NEMA 6-50P plug, and spare drive rolls and contact tips.
